Dig It - 8/14/23

Hello Fellow Seekers, Today we have a treat, this is one of the Best Plateau Flat Bags I have ever seen. It was first owned by James Waiste, who was some kind of Hollywood type. Then it was owned by Jack Ringwald, who may have sold it to Waiste in the first place. Jack was kind of Crazy, but the Good kind of Crazy. He was real nice guy and a great Dealer, which is hard to find these days, maybe it always was. Anyway, I bought it from Jack well over 20 years ago and sold it to my Mom. My Mom had a collection of 10 great pictorial flat bags, all of which were this quality. They were Amazing. I used to find one or two great bags every year, sometimes more. You just don’t see them these days.

This bag has the flying dove in the top left corner. I have seen a number of bags with this Dove and and they have all been great. This leads me to believe that one master beader or group/family of beaders made all these Great Bags. The bag dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. This bag is not available, but I have Two other Great Bags for Sale on my website: tobyherbst.com
