Howdy Fellow Seekers! Great to see so many of you! Come on into the cabin, now watch your head, the beams are a little low, that right have a seat by the fire. Now make yourself comfy. What's in the Dutch oven you ask? That’s Polecat stew - mighty tasty with the right seasoning, in fact Delicious! Now, you didn’t come for supper. You came to see one of Lonesome’s treasures, and today we have a great one for you.
This here is an ingot cuff made at the end of the 19th century. That’s right, pass it around. Now you will note there is an exuberance of stamping on this bracelet this exuberance is typical of bracelets from that period. Yet this silversmith has used only 6 simple stamps and a cold chisel. The 2 long lozenges have been repousséd or pushed up, raised.
The stamp work is not perfect, but the result is a very powerful, sort of gutsy look. I love the swagged border with the little star stamps and the ribbed feather like stamps in the center.
Well Fellow Seekers, this is the type of bracelet that makes Old Lonesome’s heart sing, but you can’t keep them all. But whoever is lucky enough to own this here bracelet is going to have too did deep just like I did. Buena Suerte Amigos y Amigas, See you down the trail a bit.
