Dig It - 4/6/23
Dig It! Fellow Seekers, Today we are going to take quick look at a Crow/Absaroka buffalo hide parfleche envelope made before 1880, as the buffalo were pretty much gone after that. In the second photo, I have opened a flap so you can see the rich, chocolate brown color typical of buffalo hide. This is an old and well-used parfleche, yet the colors are still pretty vivid and rich. I like artifacts that show use, and that were made for the people and not just for sale. This piece is available for sale. All the best, Lonesome.
