Dig It - 4/13/23

Well Fellow Seekers, Today we have an incredible treat. This is one of the greatest and best bracelets I have ever found. The bracelet was originally owned by Marjorie F. Lambert and collected by her husband, Everett J. “Jack” Lambert in the 1940s at Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. Marjorie Lambert was an anthropologist and archaeologist who was associated with numerous digs, The Maxwell Museum, The Museum of New Mexico, and The School of American Archaeology. In 1988, she and Jack were both made Santa Fe Living Treasures.

The Bracelet dates to the 1890s or very early 20th century. It is made up of four bangles soldered together and strengthened with silver plates at the terminals. The bracelet reflects the Navajo concept of “Hozo”, or beauty through balance and harmony. The four bangles possibly allude to the Navajo magic number, four, which is the number of times prayers are often repeated. In any case, the four bangles have perfect balance and harmony. The Stone is simple and beautiful with shades of blue and green. This, Fellow Seekers, is what it is all about. Seek Out!
