Dig It - 3/30/26
Hey Fellow Seekers, this is a beautiful simple ingot bracelet from the 1920s or 1930s. The silversmith has let the turquoise do all the talking. The bracelet has good weight in silver, which is often a sign that it was made for Native consumption. The sides are stamped with crisp geometric designs and long arrows instead of the short, crossed arrows found on tourist jewelry.
Back in the day, Navajos wore their wealth, so the weight of the silver was important. On the other hand, most tourists were more concerned with the "look" than they were with the weight. Of course this is a generalization, and Iām sure there are many exceptions. The bracelet is about 5.75ā inside from terminal to terminal, with a 1.25" gap. The bracelet is for sale...and at not too crazy a price, so give Old Lonesome a holler.
