Dig It - 11/2/26

Hey Fellow Seekers, this one is kinda different. It's a flat top bangle with a drilled stone. These flat top bangles were mostly made for Native consumption and seemed to have been especially popular in the Pueblos. At least when I have purchased flat tops with any sort of collection history, they mostly seem to have come from the Pueblos of New Mexico. This is not a hard and fast rule but more like a personal observation. Anyway, this is the first one I've had with a square cut stone. The simple ovoid stamps flanking the stone remind me of the type and style of work often associated with 2nd phase belts and buckles and suggest to me that the bracelet dates to the early 20th century. It is a really nice, clean design. The bracelet reportedly came out of Lynn Truesdell's collection. Well Seekers, it is for sale and quite a rare piece for the savvy collector. -Lonesome Out.
