Dig It - 4/10/25
Hey Fellow Seekers, I sold this one a number of years ago and it is part of a fabulous collection. I love how the button on the left side was polished enough that it done wore a hole in the silver. It features a great turquoise stone which is probably Persian and was cut either back east or in Europe. This quality of stone would have been reserved for the best silversmiths, but this bracelet, because of it’s size, weight and wear was probably made for Native consumption.
I love the fleur-de-lis on either side of the central stone. This motif was quite popular amongst Navajo and Pueblo silversmiths in the early 20th Century. Perhaps the inspiration was the sprouting vegetal design of the corn plant as seen in Pueblo paintings. This is a beautiful, well loved bracelet that has found a very good home. Adios, -Lonesome
