Dig It - 8/12/24

You know Fellow Seekers, I consider myself lucky to have bought, owned, and sold some great things in my day. I wish I had most of them back. This parfleche envelope is one of them. It is Gros Ventre, a northern Plains tribe. It is made from beautifully painted Buffalo hide and dates sometime before 1880. I sold it to the Detroit Art Institute - and for not a lot of money. One thing I would like to emphasize, Fellow Seekers, is that Plains Indian Parfleche is one of the few areas where you can still buy a Museum Quality Masterpiece for under $10,000. That is totally crazy, but true. Though this one is sold, I still have many other great parfleche for sale. -Lonesome
