Dig It - 4/22/24

Well Fellow Seekers, this bracelet comes from the “Where is it now? I want it Back!” file. Besides being a beautiful, fabulous, early bracelet, I am posting it as an example of Navajo refurbishing of GrandPa or GrandMa’s early bracelet. Originally, this was a late19th century plain silver ingot bracelet - beautiful in its’ own right. At sometime in the late 1890s or early 20th century when solder and soldering techniques became available, the owner had it refurbished and up dated with the addition of these two beautiful turquoise stones. You can see they were placed right on top of the old silver design. The stone on the right with the drilled hole must have been part of an old necklace. Navajos were, and are, certainly practical as well as Fashion Forward. Let me know if anyone knows the whereabouts of this bracelet, I would love to buy it back. - Lonesome
