Dig It - 7/6/23

Edmund Dulac was one of the greatest illustrators of the Golden Age of Illustration, roughly 1890-1920. This was when the great book publishers would produce presentation books, sumptuously illustrated and printed. The signed limited editions had gold embossed, vellum covers, and were made for special occasions like Christmas. Remember, these were the days before TV or even Radio for that matter, and special books with their magical illustrations would transport the reader, or those being read to, to far off exotic and mystical Lands. The illustration pictured is original, and was done by Dulac in the 1920s for an article about infamous queens. This one being an East Indian Warrior Queen of long ago. The Illustration is 13.5” x 12” and is available for purchase.
