Dig It - 10/10/22

Well, Hello Again Fellow Seekers!

For those of you who want the best for your collection of Southwestern Art, I submit this wonderful Turn-of-the-Century Hopi kachina. She is a Polik Mana, or Butterfly Maiden. This piece was made in the late 19th to early 20th century. The artist who carved her has used both native and commercial pigments. She is 14” tall and 10” across. Her tablita or headdress represents, stacked clouds of rain with a trefoils representing young plant growth. From her mouth she emits clouds and rain and hence the rainbow. This is truly a masterpiece that will enhance any collection.
