Dig It!
This bracelet dates to the early 1900s. It is surprisingly heavy for the period, so the Navajo it was made for must have been quite a “Rico”. The piece has a remarkably simple, yet elegant balance about it, again illustrating the Navajo concept of “Hozo” or beauty through harmony. The central blue turquoise stone is held in place by a unique handmade bezel, another indication of an early date of manufacture.
The piece is on the small side, measuring 4.75” from terminal to terminal with a 1” gap between terminals. It comes out of an old East Coast collection and is presently available for sale.
