Dig It - 3/17/26

Hello again Fellow Seekers! I’m so happy you are joining me for another adventure into the wonderful, yet sometimes confusing world of antique Navajo jewelry. This second-phase Navajo concho or concha belt is made from ingot silver and dates from the late 1890s to around 1910. Though the ten conchas are small in size, each about 2.75” across, they are heavy silver and superbly stamped. Just look at them; the stamping is near perfect! I love them, but look at that buckle! It also has great stamping and four wonderful stones in nice thick handmade bezels. I’m not sure if the stones were put on later to update the belt, which is something the Navajos did quite frequently in the early days of silversmithing. This belt is for sale and is reasonably priced! Fellow Seekers, give Old Lonesome a holler and get yourself this classic 2nd phase concha belt! - Lonesome
