Dig It - 6/3/24

Well alrighty then Fellow Seekers, you know mines are dark and dirty and sometimes you might miss something in all that confusion. That is why it is well-worth going back for a second look, you just might find a Gem. Well Seekers, that is what this bracelet is, a Fabulous Gem.

This was my fourth post on Instagram and now I am well over 200, so I think it is well worth a revisit. I would guess this bracelet was made somewhere between 1920 and the 1940s. It is too sophisticated to have been made much before 1920 as the silversmiths did not have the tools or techniques to have made something like this. It has a real Deco vibe to it and that would certainly be the 1920s or 30s. There was even some speculation that the bracelet might have been made by a Hopi smith who worked pre-World War II, (Bedinger, p.159) but that is speculation.

Anyway this bracelet has it all, twisted wire, hand drawn wire, silver balls, silver plates stamped with hearts. It has superb turquoise stones, hand cut and professionally cut, all matched with beautiful blues and greens, and handmade serrated bezels to hold them. There is also good wear on this bracelet, showing it was well-worn and loved. My God, this is one of the best bracelets I have ever had the pleasure to own. It is small in size, 5.25” from terminal to terminal, with a 1” gap. It is for sale! First Come, first Sold.

You know Old Lonesome is a Luddite, look it up. So if this bracelet is of interest, the best way to contact me is by email: toby@tobyherbst.com or phone me at 505-983-2652. It's always nice to hear from a Fellow Seeker. Now excuse me, but I got to find my way out of this Blasted Mine. - Lonesome.
