Dig It - 2/22/24
Hello once again Fellow Seekers! I hope you are doing well! Today, we will be looking at a 19th century Kwakiutl Wolf Mask. Arroooooo!!!
This mask was collected among the Quatsino Band of the Kwakiutl in northern Vancouver Island in 1937 for the Denver Art Museum who later deaccessioned it.
I love this mask. The Wolf is very powerful and spooky, but slightly goofy at the same time. Can you imagine this mask being danced by firelight? Pretty powerful. The mask is for sale.
