Dig It - 10/17/22

Ever since I saw the movie, “My Cousin Vinny” where Joe Pesci, while speaking to the judge in his Brooklyn accent, refers to his clients as “Da two Utes” instead of the two youths, the tribal name Ute has always cracked me up.

Here we have the Da two Utes, or at least two views of the same Ute bag. This is a masterpiece of Intermountain style of beadwork. The pink and other rich colored beads; the single lane of white beads defining the central design on the front; along with the prominence of triangles and diamond shaped elements are all typical of that style.
